Led by versatile Indian classical vocalist Roopa Mahadevan, Roopa in Flux brings her rich Carnatic (South Indian classical) vocals in conversation with virtuosos of jazz, R&B/Soul and free improv. Through energetic improvisation, emotional depth, humor, and storytelling, Roopa in Flux celebrates the power of individual expression and immigrant traditions. The ensemble has performed in venues like SFJazz, Lincoln Center, Rubin Museum, Kennedy Center, and Joe’s Pub, inspiring radical authenticity and joy among audiences big and small.
