ROOPA IN FLUX brings the rich Carnatic (South Indian classical) vocal tradition in conversation with virtuosos of jazz, R&B/Soul and free improv. Roopa in Flux uses highly diverse repertoire, energetic improvisation, emotional depth, humor, and storytelling, to celebrate the power of individual expression and community. The ensemble has performed in venues such as SFJazz, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, and Joe’s Pub, and spreads radical joy in niche and mainstream cultural spaces.
